Role of C-Global-E
C-Global-E will be an organization that enables as many organizations as possible to provide the experience described herein. This includes secondary, bachelor’s, graduate, and exec/continuing education. C-Global-E will be an organization with some similarities to the highly successful Sloan-C organization, which the Alfred C. Sloan foundation established and funded to bring distance learning to academia in general. For a decade, Sloan-C provided conferences, forums, and access to experts to help schools launch distance programs. In addition, Sloan-C provided funds to prime the distance program pump. In a similar fashion, C-Global-E will test the concept, and then resource itself to develop as many consortiums as possible, while making it easy for organizations to join. The ultimate goal will be to have millions of students learning and experiencing things together.
In the end, G-Global-E might also be an organization that works on behalf of the consortiums to exploit additional opportunities. The idea of a consortium is, in and of itself, an institution of varied experience and success. Some work, and some do not. But in an industry where knowledge is shared for the good of humanity, perhaps we might be able to extend that idea and make consortiums work to provide education, once again – but in a new way - for the good of humanity.
